Factor RAIDEN

The velodrome is arguably the most iconic cycling environment. It is the home of cycling, where bike racing truly originated, long before roads were smooth or gears existed. So much has changed since, yet some things haven’t.

Track bikes still don’t have gears, they don’t even have brakes; they’re the purist of bikes: designed to be fast, made to race. At Factor, we have embraced the need for speed that the velodrome demands.

Last summer, two years of design and development came to fruition with the Factor HANZŌ Track carrying the Australian pursuit team to gold in Paris in addition to setting a world record time.

Harnessing the breakthroughs from that pursuit bike, the Factor RAIDEN was born. This winter it has been ridden in velodromes across the world. It is engineered to conquer all track events, combining pursuit aero efficiency with a powerful performance in group racing dynamics, bringing all the innovation that led to that glorious summer in Paris to all velodrome races and all track riders.

Coming off two development cycles for Factor Bikes which resulted in the new OSTRO VAM and the HANZŌ Track, the Factor RAIDEN represents a fusion of knowledge that our developers learned from the process of creating those two super advanced bikes.

By balancing the equation between making the fastest straight-line bike in the HANZŌ Track with developing the OSTRO VAM that is more manoeuvrable and more tailored to moving in a group, the RAIDEN mixes the aero efficiency of a straight-line solo track bike with the ability to excel in group racing dynamics.

Wide Range of Use Scenarios

Developed after extensive research into the ideal geometry for the majority of track riders, the RAIDEN provides a race-ready position that combines responsiveness with the ability to hold an aggressive posture for the length of a track event. The frame’s inherent adjustability ensures a wide range of fit options across rider sizes and track events.

The RAIDEN has been on the boards these past months proving itself in all disciplines: our FACTOR RACING team in Slovenia weathered the winter in the velodrome, in Canada the national team got to test its capabilities, while in California, L39ION's Justin Williams & Kendall Ryan with Skratch Labs’ Caroline Wreszin were fine-tuning their form.

The development of the HANZŌ and RAIDEN led to the creation of two sets of Black Inc track wheels. The Black Inc ZERO Track full disc carbon wheels are ideal for pursuit racing and have been optimized in collaboration with Aus Cycling, prioritizing stiffness and aerodynamic performance. Then for hard training sessions or as a gateway wheel to track racing, the Black Inc SIXTY Track wheelset offers exceptional stiffness for power transfer while remaining agile and quick to accelerate.
