RAIDEN

Lightning fast on the track

A fuse of knowledge

Coming off the back of two massive development cycles for Factor Bikes which resulted in the new OSTRO VAM and the HANZŌ Track, the Factor RAIDEN takes full advantage of everything our developers learned while creating those epic bikes. The Raiden is a fusion of knowledge.

By balancing the equation between making the fastest straight-line bike in the HANZŌ Track with developing the OSTRO VAM that is more maneuverable and more tailored to moving in a group, the RAIDEN mixes the aero efficiency of a straight-line solo track bike with the ability to excel in group racing dynamics.

The RAIDEN is a mass start track bike with a geometry tailored to a wide cross-section of track riders. From Sprint to Madison to Omnium races, the RAIDEN can dominate the sprinter’s lane.

Accessible geometry

Developed after extensive research into the ideal geometry for the majority of track riders, the RAIDEN provides a race-ready position that combines responsiveness with the ability to hold an aggressive posture for the length of a track event. Factor’s hallmark handling results in a maneuverable bike that weaves through heavy traffic in bunch racing. The frame’s inherent adjustability ensures a wide range of fit options across rider sizes and track events.

Extreme stiffness

Since the RAIDEN needs to be able to be effective in a variety of track disciplines, from Sprint races between two riders to a bunch of events like the Points race, it needs to be able to deliver the type of stiffness that will allow the riders to take full benefit from their power output. Every part of the frame has been developed to accommodate these high torque needs of elite and serious amateur racers. Using our in-house expertise in laying up carbon, the frame’s material has been precisely dosed throughout to ensure the highest level of rigidity. Important regions like the chainstays and seatstays have been inspired by the HANZŌ Track to facilitate power transfer while maintaining stiffness/aero balance.

Efficient group dynamics

Taking inspiration from the OSTRO VAM, the RAIDEN employs a front end that is aerodynamically more suited to group racing dynamics. Air flow is less predictable in bunch events where riders will be jockeying for position within the group., The initial foil shapes of the fork and headtube were inspired by shapes used in the OSTRO VAM development process. They were modified throughout the development of the RAIDEN making them deeper and better suited for flow retention of bunch racing events. The RAIDEN combines the aero efficiency of a straight-line pursuit bike like the HANZŌ Track with the efficient group dynamics of the OSTRO VAM.

Adaptable to disciplines

Designed to complement the Aus Cycling track project and capitalize on our insights from the OSTRO VAM and HANZŌ Track development cycles, the RAIDEN is highly technologically driven while remaining especially accessible for athletes of all levels of proficiency.

Versatile position adjustment

Thanks to the rail style seatpost, the RAIDEN offers maximum versatility to adjust and dial in the saddle position for a wide variety of rider sizes and events.

Reach and stack adjustability

The standard 1 1/8” round steerer makes it easy to fit a variety of bar and stem configurations and to fine tune the rider position.

Standard T47x 68mm bottom bracket

The focus of the RAIDEN was to create accessible high performance. Every effort was made to use standardized parts for easy maintenance and service.

The innovative design of the Vision Metron Track handlebar allows for multiple hand positions for the rider competing in a variety of track events. Paired with the FSA SMR-II stem ensures adjustability and adaptability to rider position requirements.
